In 1975, Bivy and her six siblings fled Vietnam and landed in the United States with $60. Our family is now more than 30 strong, thanks to her constant love and attention.
In lieu of gifts to our family, please consider making a donation to a charity of an amount that is both meaningful to you and fits within your budget. Some organizations will also allow you to divide your donation into small payments.
Bivy asked that any donations go towards local organizations doing meaningful work around houselessness and mental health. Here are a few places:
Portland: Family Promise, JOIN, and Outside In
Seattle: Asian Counseling and Referral Service, Catholic Community Services of Western Washington, and Downtown Emergency Service Center
New York: Asian American Federation, Bowery Mission, and Housing Works
Los Angeles: Chinatown Community for Equitable Development
